September 26, 2016I hit a cow elk this evening
I've been preaching to folks all over America for just over 3 years now about the quality and value of Ranch Hand products. Now I can speak from experience!
I hit a cow elk this evening traveling from Taos to Raton on Highway 64 in New Mexico. I did everything I could to avoid the accident, but one of the elk decided to turn around and go back where she came from. Her shoulder was lined up with the drivers side headlight just before impact, but her head struck the upright first, spun her around and she ended up on the ground before hitting the driver's side front door. All the gauges on the truck were fine, so when I finally made it to a spot I could safely pull over, I grabbed a flashlight and got out to inspect the damage. There was some elk hair and saliva in the upright area, and I couldn't see the minor dent in the door till I got to a hotel in Raton. Without the RH Summit FE, I surely would have had a busted headlight and possibly radiator and other FE damage. Could have been stranded and forced to call a wrecker. Instead I'll take it to the car wash tomorrow and wash off most of the evidence. I'm hoping they'll let me leave the minor door dent to help proof a point....Ranch Hand really does help you -"Be on the Safe Side!
