September 26, 2016A woman in a 2001 Honda CRV jumped out of traffic
The woman that hit me was moving in excess of 40mph whereas I was doing less than 10mph. I was crossing the street to enter the driveway of my employer. Traffic had stopped across 3 lanes to allow me to pass. A woman in a 2001 Honda CRV jumped out of traffic and was driving on the shoulder. She caught me on the right front, just in front of the wheel. Due to the way traffic had stopped to allow me to pass I was probably at a 20 degree angle to her. She was seeing the right front of my truck. She hit me hard enough to deploy her airbags and spin me almost parallel with traffic. If it hadn't been for your product, she would have traveled at a diagonal across my front end, striking the engine and pushing everything towards me. As it was, the brush guard absorbed impact on the wrap around, bent in, then deflected her off of and away from my truck. The welds never broke where the wrap around was attached to the push bar. I firmly believe that had it not been for the superior quality and craftsmanship of your brush guard, this single father of two would've gone to a trauma center instead of going home to his kids that day. I will always have one of your products on the front of my truck. I have an F350 that is getting one in the next 2 weeks.
In the pictures you will see blue paint on my paint where a section of her vehicle managed to get through the wrap around over the headlights. You will also see the scrapes along the wrap around, and see where the plastic was peeled off her vehicle on the push bar. It's obvious she traveled along the wrap around. The body on the front of the truck was moved over a foot, making it impossible to open the drivers door more than 8 inches without having to force it.
Thank you for protecting me. Don't change the way you do things.
